Big Brother Alive and Well in France

In an UNBELIEVABLE move, France has outlawed anyone filming or broadcasting any acts of violence. According to Peter Sayer of IDG News Service, in one hideous ruling, the French Constitutional Council has said that unless you are a professional journalist, any filming or broadcasting of violence could lead to jail time!

Specifically, “the law could lead to the imprisonment of eyewitnesses who film acts of police violence, or operators of Web sites publishing the images.”

The example given in this article is that if the person who had filmed the Rodney King beating were to do that in France today, he would be liable for a $98,537 fine (USD), and up to five years in prison.

This is unfathomable! Talk about Big Brother!

Perhaps even scarier, the article said “The government has also proposed a certification system for Web sites, blog hosters, mobile-phone operators and Internet service providers, identifying them as government-approved sources of information if they adhere to certain rules.”

Kiss freedom goodbye in France. Citizens there are now puppets of the state, living like mushrooms — kept in the dark and fed whatever bull$#!+ the government wants to feed them.

Remind me to stay away from France. Permanently.
