I wonder how Ted Turner would taste …

Ol’ Teddy Turner, former Media Mogul and current buffalo rancher, is predicting we’ll be eating each other by 2040.  Is this a confession that his buffalo enterprise will not be able to keep up with consumer demand?

Frankly, as old as Teddy is, I’m wondering if I should just request his body be smoked and we preserve him as jerky …. not a lot of tenderness ever existed in the guy anyway.

Clueless Utah Judge is Ignorant of Facts

Get a load of this article at WorldNetDaily.  Seems some opinionated but clueless judge named Scott Johansen says “homeschooling fails 100% of the time.”

Fails at what, judge?

If you mean homeschooling fails at indoctrinating youth into endorsing homosexuality as ‘normal’ … and that the Allah of the Koran and the God of the Bible are the ‘same God,’ . . . and that the government knows what’s better for ‘the children’ than do the children’s parents, then yes, judge, homeschooling fails.

Thank God it fails at all that.

But when you look at who’s winning the national spelling bees each year, and which kids are truly more socialized in holding intelligent conversations, and who gets more one-on-one instruction (BY FAR), then you can only say “homeschooled kids.”

How much attention can a teacher give one student? Do the MATH, judge.  If a kid is sitting in a classroom for six hours a day, that’s 360 minutes. But if the class has 25 kids, and if the teacher does nothing but divide his or her time equally among the various students, the MOST one-on-one attention a teacher can give a student is LESS THAN FIFTEEN minutes.

However . . . The average home schooler gets 2.5 hours of individualized instruction each day from the parent-teacher, or 150 minutes.

Think about it judge. The homeschooler gets ten times more one-on-one instruction.

A study of 7,500 adults who were each homeschooled at least seven years revealed the following:

74% went on to college. . . . Compared to only 46% of the general US population.

71% participate in an ongoing community service activity (e.g., coaching a sports team, volunteering at a school, working with a neighborhood association, etc.), compared to only 37% of U.S. adults of similar ages.

4.2% of the homeschool graduates surveyed consider politics and government too complicated to understand . . . . Compared to 35% of adults in the general US population.

Judge Scott Johansen, your head is full of opinion, but short on facts.  In the military we call that being a penis with ears.

Therefore, we need to change the offical photo of you hanging at the courthouse.

What is is now: Scott Johansen’s Fake Image  Scott Johansen: Ignorant Judge

What it NEEDS to be: Scott Johansen as he REALLY is - a penis with ears  Scott Johansen: Penis with Ears (and also an ignorant judge)

What can the homosexual lobby say about this?

At the end of October I penned a post about the possiblity of homosexual behavior being genetically based.  As expected, some pooh-poohed the idea. But today the Chicago Sun Times has an article (in the ‘lifestyles’ section – ha!) outlining how scientists have discovered how to change sexual preferrences in fruit flies AT WILL — simply by altering their genes or by giving them a drug that immitates the effects of a particular gene.

What can the homosexual lobby say about this?

I ask again, **IF** a genetic condition is the root cause of disease, doesn’t it make sense to treat the disease **IF** a treatment was known to exist and be safe?

Is the homosexual lobby about pleasure, or fear?

The problem: Homosexuals get their sexual pleasure (a strong human drive) through sex with another of the same sex.  As with all things human, when people afraid of the unknown, they’re afraid to give up that predictable pleasure.

One homosexual friend of mine and I had long conversations about this. His conclusion? He didn’t WANT to change – – – He liked his “sin” too much.

To calm this anxiety, consider that within hours of being treated to eliminate the homosexual tendencies, these fruit flies were attracted to female fruit flies.  The point: The sexual drive simply redirects.

It would seem the root cause of the issue is not so much a desire for acceptance of being homosexual – but a fear of the unknown.  A fear that being homosexual and LIKING it is, in reality, an illness . . . a genetic disorder.  People don’t want what gives them pleasure to be considered an illness.

Compare it to alcoholism.  It’s considered an illness.  A genetic marker leads to the addiction.  But society puts a “wrong” label on alcoholism. Alcoholics are shunned, and we openly endorse 12-step programs.

We can wonder how long the 12-step programs would survive if an “Alcoholics Lobby” were pushing city and state governments to remove all public denouncing of alcoholism.

Also compare this genetic issue to inneffective immune systems in bubble children.  For several decades, genetic researchers have been working to correct the children’s genetically-caused immunodeficiency – – AFTER the children have been born with the disease.

What If?

What IF a homosexual man was genetically treated and suddenly lost an attraction for men —- and found an attraction to females?

In other words, what if homosexuality really IS a genetic illness?

It’s sad when an alcoholic refuses treatment.  He loves his liquor and doesn’t want to give it up.  It may be he thinks it’s too risky to attempt finding pleasure in other sources. The fear of loss can be strong enough to prevent any attempt at changing.

Besides, the homosexual lobby has made gains to the point that homosexuals are to be “tolerated.” Even “accepted.”  Even “endorsed.”

Peer Pressure Now a Factor

No, taking treatment would require giving up everything that has made sense up to that point, and the resulting peer pressure would be unbearable.

From outside of the alcoholic state, the situation is clear.  Get treatment. From inside the alcoholic state, the drinking buddies see no reason any one should give up drinking.

More and more genetic evidence is coming in . . . .  Just what can the homosexual lobby say about this?

Are they really going to outlaw lightbulbs?

What a crock of hypocrisy, insanity, and lunacy. I railed on the whacky extreme right the other day, but this is nuts. The ultra far left has accelerated to mach 5 so fast they’ve gone around the globe — and they could now be called communist nut cases.

It’s true what I heard when the environmental movement began to take hold twenty years ago: “Green is the new Red.”

How long will the general population put up with this bull$#!+?  The double standards. The pseudo-science. The total intolerance by those who scream for more tolerance.

Civilized debate has not taken a back seat here. It’s not even been sent to the back of the bus; It’s been thrown OFF the bus.  It’s now lying fatally wounded at the side of the road.

Ever since the time this country was founded there has been nasty political debate, but I don’t think there’s ever been such utter lack civility in any American politcal discourse. What I hear coming from these power-hungry twisted loons is something I expect to hear between warring factions of an uncivilized barbarian world.

It’s sad that it’s come to this. And I must admit, in the past few years we’ve witnessed an acceleration of lunacy the likes of which none in our lifetime have ever seen.

It has become apparent that the religious environmentalists are ten times worse than they ever accused the religious right of being.  They not only blame every ill on anyone who has a differing opinion, they will fervently take action–illegal, if need be–to squelch them. I don’t suppose it is long before we see them forcefully oppressing dissenters while twisting the meaning of existing laws to do it — yet they will see themselves as acting righteously.

So much for their cries of “tolerance!”

Like I said: Hypocritical, insane, intolerant lunatics. The $#!+ needs to stop, but I don’t think it will.

I once heard it said that if God does not judge this country he will have to apologize to Sodom and Gomorrah. As a result of what’s been going on in this country lately, I don’t think God has it in mind to do any apologizing whatsoever.

Global warming? Look for yourself.

Rather than read the gazillions of opinions on both sides of the global warming debate, just take a look at a few images presented by some reputable, scientific organizations.

The first is from the University of California Museum of Paleontology / Berkeley.  This animation of continental drift over the past several million years should intrigue you.  For the extreme right wingers, don’t be bothered by the fact this is from Berekely.  For the extreme left wingers, don’t be bothered by the fact this is coming from a reputable source.

The second set of images comes from the Paleomap Project.  First I encourage you to explore the various location of the contentents from the Precambrian Period 650 million years ago through modern time.  Just scroll down a bit and click on any of the time periods listed on the left side of the page.

Then let your eyes pop out when you visit the climate page and scroll to the image at the bottom, showing earth’s temperatures since Precambrian times.  (Be sure to note where we are TODAY.)

Now – These are reputable scientific sources. If you want to argue with this data, don’t do it with me. I’m just the messenger.
